At Mobile Heartbeat, you’ll be working with cutting edge technologies and having a direct impact on healthcare delivery in hospitals across the United States. Our MH- CURE product is used by nurses, doctors and other care providers across a range of hospitals, providing secure clinical communication, access to patient data and care teams as well as delivery of alerts and alarms.


In this role, the Technical Writer I is primarily responsible for customer-facing product documentation using MadCap Flare. Using DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) methodology and a mix of variables and conditions, you will create single-sourced content that can be reused in multiple deliverables and in multiple forms.


The Technical Writer I reports to the Technical Documentation Manager and is a member of Technical Solutions & Support.

 

Responsibilities

  • The majority of work (70% of job) involves developing and maintaining User Guides, Customer ChangeLogs, Upgrade Guides, and any other required documentation
  • Create content that can be delivered in multiple forms: PDF, HTML, and possibly other modes of delivery without post-production requirements
  • Apply consistent application of branding and styles
  • Capable of backing up other technical writers when required. (20% of job)
  • The technical writer will participate in agile planning and practice. This requires project and time management skills. (5% of job)
  • All deliverables require subject matter expert (SME) reviews and documentation approvals. (5% of job)
  • Occasional travel required

Required Skills, Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a degree with a certificate in Technical Writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
  • Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
  • Ability to transform large amounts of data into consumable topics
  • A passion for technology
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience
  • Good project management skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Flexibility

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working in a technical writing position or role is a plus
  • Experience with MadCap Flare or other topic based writing tool
  • Experience with, or knowledge of DITA
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat.
